AI Personas on Facebook: Innovation or Chaos?

Meta plans to embed AI personas into Facebook, treating them as platform users with bios, profile pictures, and content generation capabilities. Through its AI Studio, the company envisions a future where AI characters interact seamlessly with human users.

While influencers can create AI replicas for fan engagement, these personas bring significant risks, including misinformation and reduced authenticity in creator-driven content. The push for social AI highlights the balance between innovation and its unintended consequences.

Will this evolution strengthen online connections or erode trust in our digital communities and make Facebook become useless?
