Developed by artist Mario Klingemann and others, Botto uses an AI image generator paired with a "taste model" tuned by community votes. Governed by a DAO, enthusiasts influence its development using $Botto cryptocurrency.

Recently, Botto’s creators added a language model to allow it to discuss its work, with plans for it to evolve its own artistic “personality.” However, Botto raises ethical questions, as its models are trained on copyrighted works, intensifying fears of AI displacing human artists.
