Within the next 24 months, AI tools might take over much of the "undifferentiated heavy lifting" in coding, forcing developers to upskill and redefine their roles. Garman claims his message isn’t a warning of job extinction but an optimistic view of evolving opportunities, where creativity and understanding of customer demands become the core competencies, although quite a few people will certainly lose their jobs in the process.
