A sinister reality unfolds as AI-generated child sexual abuse images, nearing 3,000 in count, breach UK law, sending ripples of fear across the digital realm. The Internet Watch Foundation warns of an alarming surge in such nefarious use of AI, with criminals concocting harrowing depictions from past real-life abuses or using AI tools to “nudify” pictures of clothed children found online. A grotesque blend of technology and inhumanity, threatening to eclipse the essence of internet safety.
