Facebook Bets Big on The Metaverse Mark Zuckerberg wants to become the king of the Metaverse. The Facebook CEO announced the company's intention to hire 10.000 people in the European Union to advance its metaverse vision as well as an investment of $10 billion in the next version of the internet. Clearly, Zuckerberg wants to become the Nolan Sorrento of the immersive internet, which we should prevent at all costs if we want the metaverse to remain open, useful and fun. All Mastercard merchants will be able to accept crypto soon. Any merchant that accepts Mastercard will soon also be able to offer customers crypto loyalty rewards thanks to a deal between the payments giant and Bakkt. A parallel internet will launch, only available to gamers. The company Subspace has built a parallel network using its own networks, hardware and AI to create a parallel internet to enable real-time multiplayer games in the cloud. By doing so, it fixes the network clogging issues the internet faces and which are unacceptable for gamers.
