Apple might just be gearing up to bring robots into your home. But will they be charming Pixar-style lamps, or something closer to Rosie from The Jetsons?
Apple is exploring humanoid and non-humanoid robots, according to a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. While early-stage research hints at a future smart home ecosystem, Apple’s cautious history suggests we won’t see mass production before 2028.
The focus appears to be less about the robot’s shape and more on how humans interact with it, prioritizing sensing hardware and AI-driven perception. Although the proof-of-concept could evolve into anything from a smart mechanical arm to a full humanoid assistant, challenges like cost and reliability remain major hurdles.
Given Apple’s recent setbacks with projects like the Vision Pro, the company seems determined to avoid a misstep in robotics.
