OpenAIโs New Gig: Keeping Nukes Safeโฆ What Could Go Wrong?

The Terminator Was a Warning, Not a Blueprint! OpenAI just signed a deal with the US National Laboratories to use its o1 AI models for nuclear security. ๐คฏ
Thatโs right, the same AI that hallucinates facts, leaks sensitive data, and just got humiliated by DeepSeek is now tasked with keeping nukes safe. If that doesnโt send a shiver down your spine, Iโm not sure what will.
CEO Sam Altman insists this partnership will reduce nuclear risks, but history tells us AI doesnโt always play by the rules, and we now know that Altman cannot be trusted.
Meanwhile, OpenAI is also rolling out ChatGPT Gov, a government-only version of its chatbot. Because if thereโs one thing we need, itโs AI generating confident, but incorrect, national security memos.
Trump is happily eating all of Altman's nonsense, despite its unpredictable behavior. OpenAI is also deep in Trumpโs AI infrastructure plan, Stargate, and rumored to be seeking a $340 billion valuation.
Thatโs a lot of money riding on models that sometimes make things up and can be replaced with just a few million Dollars. Can AI really enhance nuclear security, or is this just another example of misplaced technological optimism?
