Dockworkers argue automation erodes their livelihoods under the guise of efficiency, while industries claim it boosts productivity and compensates for labor shortages.
Robotics investments have skyrocketed, with machines now capable of performing tasks from window washing to frying food. Agreements in industries like retail and culinary include severance packages and training, but anxiety persists. And in a capitalist world, jobs will be displaced by the millions, if not billions.
