1. China taking the lead again in supercomputing.

Although OceanLight, a Chinese supercomputer with exascale capabilities, had previously failed to find its way onto the Top500 list of fastest machines in the world, it has once again surged back into prominence as one of just three finalists for this year’s Gordon Bell Prize—also known as the Nobel Prize of Supercomputing.
