Generative AI: Supercharging Knowledge or Sabotaging Wisdom?

Generative AI promises infinite knowledge, but it might just make us the smartest fools in history.
Weโve used technology, from Gutenbergโs printing press to todayโs internet, to spread knowledge wider and faster. Generative AI pushes this further, instantly summarizing mountains of information at our command.
Yet, easy access doesnโt always mean deeper thinking. Weโre already seeing signs of digital amnesia; storing less in our brains because tech remembers for us.
What worries me most:
- AI can accidentally give wrong answers (โhallucinationsโ).
- Easy answers might hurt our critical thinking.
- We might lose diversity, replacing varied views with uniform AI-driven responses.
