Good Day! This is my weekly newsletter, with a dose of insights into the future. The topic of this newsletter is the exponential times we live in, hence the title of f(x) = e^x, which is the (natural) exponential function.
Why AI Will Make Organisations More Humane
My latest article:
The organisation of tomorrow is built around data. It will require smart algorithms to make sense of all that data. This will enable organisations to embed smartness in every process and customer touchpoint. As a result, you can empower your employees and customers when you apply intelligence and put smart to work. A surprising effect of embedding smartness within your business is that many of the administrative and mundane tasks and processes will be managed by AI. As a consequence, organisations will become a lot more humane.
Three Useful Nuggets of Information
My weekly tips from around the web to get you thinking.
1. And you thought your data was in the cloud? It is not.
People might think that their data is in the cloud, but it is not. Actually, their data is at the bottom of the sea, where it travels at nearly the speed of light from one end of the world to the other end of the world. (NY Times)
2. Someone created a database of women ‘ready to breed’.
An exposed database tracked whether 1.8 million Chinese women were “breed ready”. It is unclear who created the database and why. While some suggest it is part of a government effort to keep track of fertile women, this is unconfirmed. After it was reported by the Dutch nonprofit GDI Foundation, it was taken offline. (The Verge)
3. Can different realities of the same thing coexist?
Does objective reality exist? A quantum experiment now says it does not. The experiment suggests that the idea that there is a reality we can agree on, the idea that we have freedom of choice, or the idea of locality—must be wrong. This could have profound effects, among others because the scientific method relies on facts. (MIT Review)
