All You Need to Know About Decentralized Autonomous Organisations

A decentralized autonomous organization, or DAO, is a blockchain-based organization that relies on smart contracts for its operation. Also known as decentralized corporations, it's a new breed of organization that can self-govern and allow significant amounts of autonomy and creativity.

Decisions are made in an open-source environment. There is no central authority or person with control, but everything is transparent and governed by the blockchain.

Despite their rapid growth, DAOs are still in the dial-up phase, and proponents believe we can expect powerful examples in the coming years. However, there are already great use cases that showcase the power of a decentralized autonomous organization, but they are certainly not without risks and challenges.
