Your Face, Their Fraud: Deepfakes Have Entered Incognito Mode
If you think “don’t talk to strangers online” is old advice, try “don’t believe your boss, your lover, or your dead grandmother,” they might all be deepfakes now.
We’re witnessing a global trust meltdown, and AI is the accelerant. Scammers now deploy real-time deepfakes for romance scams, job interviews, and tax fraud. With just a photo and five seconds of your voice, they can build a fake you.
One exec wired $25M to a video of a fake CFO. Others fell for cloned voices of their loved ones. Detection tools lag behind, often limited to catching their own models, while criminals just A/B test until they fool the system.
