I see this not just as a tech disruption, but as a global social stress test:
- Left-leaning students and workers protest job loss and AI bias.
- Conservatives weaponize AI for deregulation and culture war gains.
- Courts and public services buckle under AI-generated spam.
Tech firms face revolt from within, and AI safety researchers will be attacked as either corporate shills or political saboteurs. The real question isn’t “how do we align AI?”—it’s “how do we align ourselves?” Are we prepared to lead in the storm, or be swept up by it?
